Stem - Goose Neck

November 27th, 2007 · No Comments

The stem is the component on a bicycle that connects the handlebars to the steer tube of a bicycle fork. Depending on the type of headset the stem either clamps around the steer tube or inserts into the steer tube and is held into place with a wedge. This latter style is referred to as a quill stem. (From Wikipedia.)

Beach cruisers use the quill stem. Here are the parts beach cruiser stem has (stem, long bolt and wedge).

The stem can be shorter or longer. Most of the beach cruisers we sell has a long bolt about 7 1/2 inches long.
